A photo taken by our friend John Mummert (while he was hanging out of a helicopter, no less) over at USGA was used for the cover of the 2008 U.S. Open preview issue (June 10,  2008) of Sports Illustrated.

Sports Illustrated found the image while searching through USGA’s new online digital collection, which is powered by MediaBank. Congratulations John!

WAVE Corporation: Meet the Team Julius Silva

Bio: I lived the first 11 years of my life in New York and then my family decided to move to sunny Orlando, Fl. Having been in Florida since 1989, one would think I’ve been to all the theme parks this state has to offer but no. Weird how that works! Don’t get me wrong, I really like going to the parks but why don’t I go more often? Well, on a different note, I’ve come to like firearms and am an avid collector. I love technology and the understanding of how to create something that can benefit people in an infinite number of ways. Engineering has always been in my blood and it inevitably lead me to UCF’s Computer Engineering program, from which I’ve recently graduated. Now I develop software for a company that inspires me!

Hobbies: Keeping my lawn green, firing weapons, restore and collect 8-bit Nintendo games and hardware, movies

Favorite Quote: And if I claim to be a wise man, it surely means that I don’t know! – Kerry Livgren (Kansas – “Wayward Son”)

Random Fact: Tuna never rest; they must always be moving. This constant physical action creates an enormous demand for energy – a typical tuna may eat one-quarter his own weight in food in one day.
