MediaBank 3.5 Significant Feature List includes….

LDAP Support
MediaBank will now be able to authenticate Users and Groups via LDAP/Active Directory. User Accounts password and enabled status will also be adhered to. MediaBank can also be configured to allow a “fall-through” to its own internal authentication for external positioned users (i.e. Web access).

Multi-Media Support
MediaBank will now support multi-media file types (AVI, WMV, MOV, MPG, etc…) and generate multi-page thumbnails and normalized flash preview of the assets. Streaming will be available via all 3 MediaBank client interfaces - Native Client, Java Web and MB Web.

Projects
MediaBank will now support unlimited Projects - both static and dynamic. Projects will be permission based and can be managed remotely by Project administrators. Projects can also be configured to be “role” based (i.e. dynamic/query based - Enterprise Only) and are relative with respect to User, Group, Time, Date and Database.

MB Web
MediaBank Perl/cgi Web interface will have a new updated, progressive Web 2.x look and feel. Its core structure is completely redesigned to allow easy User Interface editing and configuration by abstracting away the User Interface from the core code. Thus, upgrading and bug fixes will be easier to implement along with configuration, brandings and customizations.

License Manager
MediaBank will now support its own License Manager. This will enable fail-over models and provide a more robust and accurate licensing scheme for Test Servers and Fail-Over Servers.

Web Services for MB SDK
MediaBank’s entire Java SDK will now be available via Web Services also.

Role or Functional Skins
MediaBank will now deliver several Native Client User Interfaces (UIs) that will be focused on specified User Roles or Functionality. This will also demonstrate the extensive configuration and customization ability of the MediaBank Client. Existing Color skins will be migrated into the Role Skins.

Synchronization
MediaBank will now allow revisions to be sync’d in Job Jackets
MediaBank will now allow metadata of all revisions to be sync’d

Activity Tracking (Enterprise Only)
MediaBank will now track general User Activity (login, logout, failed logins, enable user, disable user, etc…) that can be reported on and used for SOX compliance and/or efficiency ratings

Increased Element Metadata field lengths (Workgroup and Enterprise)
MediaBank’s Element metadata field lengths will be significantly increased (Title 32 -> 255, KEY1-5: 32 -> 128, UFLD7-20: 64 -> 96)

Increased Job Jacket Metadata field lengths
(Workgroup and Enterprise)
MediaBank’s Job Jacket metadata field lengths will be significantly increased (32 -> 255).

Unlimited Metadata fields (Enterprise Only)
MediaBank will now support unlimited (extended) metadata or attribute data for all Job Jackets. Definable fields types include String, Numeric, Decimal, Boolean, unlimited Text, Date.
MediaBank will now support unlimited (extended) metadata or attribute data for all Element Databases. Definable fields types includes String, Numeric, Decimal, Boolean, unlimited Text, Date.
MediaBank will now support multiple values per extended metadata field (depth). This includes setting up locales for multiple languages, etc.
MediaBank will now support full Unicode extended field metadata. This includes creating, updating, and searching.
MediaBank will now support assigning filter(s) on extended fields. Filter(s) can be combined to achieve almost any combination of desired rules to be enforced on metadata values.

Job Jacket History (Enterprise Only)
MediaBank will now support Events/History for Job Jackets. This includes automatic creation, searching and reporting.

Task Manager
Task Manager triggering mechanism has been enhanced to be more efficient and robust

Update Page Image Elements
MediaBank will now allow the User to update the Image Elements on a checked out Page Element by re-retrieving image elements on the Page that have been modified in MediaBank.

Batch modify Element and Job Jacket Permissions (ACLs)
MediaBank will now allow the modification of multiple Element and Job Jacket permissions.

Increased Photoshop Support
Drag-and-Drop for Photoshop
PSB support (very large files - 1 GB+)
Layers support in Previews.

Tutorials
Tutorials will be significantly updated.
Tutorials will be isolated to allow a smaller footprint during upgrading or installation

Oracle 11G
Support for Oracle 11G.

Enterprise Interface
The MediaBank JDBC interface to Enterprise DBs will only be used. ODBC will not be support. Installation routines are written to accommodate this during the upgrade.

Standalone InterSep OPI
Standalone InterSep OPI will not be delivered. InterSep OPI option within MediaBank will still be delivered.

    When can we expect to see MediaBank 3.5 here in the UK?

    We expect the development to be wrapped up at the end of April. After this we anticipate 4 - 6 weeks of QA Testing. This puts the release date in July.
