Initially operating as a contract engineering analysis and design services group, WAVE Corporation developed a reputation for delivering products on time and under budget, while meeting or exceeding customer requirements. The founders were experienced in many facets of computer applications, software development and hardware design. The philosophy of creating value and exceeding customer expectations remains in WAVE's corporate culture today.
Our carefully selected projects have consistently grown in complexity and profitability. Early projects involved designing and developing new products from scratch. These products included Special Application Bar-code Readers, Primary Standard Air Flow Calibrators, Spread Spectrum RF and Line Carrier Modems and special application software. The increased capability, standardization and lower cost of general purpose computers led us to design solutions around existing products based on open systems and standards.
Our telecommunication industry remote-map project that began in 1992 involved the sale, deployment and service of CD media mapping information delivered to the field technician. This project proved our ability to deliver complex solutions with open standard components combined with design, integration and support.
In early 1993 we brought our design and integration services to the desktop. Our system solutions were built upon MAC, PC and UNIX workstations networked to high-end file servers. We specialized in the graphics arts industry servicing the needs of printers, publishers and prepress professionals.
In July 2000 we acquired the MediaBank and InterSep products from Inso, and applied our high corporate engineering and support standards to fielding increasing functionality in database and workflow products. The history of that transition reflects the cultural changes that accompanied the acquisition. WAVE's successes in further developing MediaBank and Intersep were highlighted with the release of MediaBank and InterSep 3.0 in 2003.
The reputation that WAVE established for high customer satisfaction and directed engineering focus allowed us to acquire the B.media Content Management System from Banta Corporation in July 2003. B.media customers worldwide have experienced the high level of performance that we demand from our development, deployment and support activities.
In 2007, we began to merge our broad range of products into a cohesive web-first tool suite that will surely set the industry standard once again.
WAVE Celebrated its 20th anniversary at IMUG: the International MediaBank Users Group 2007.
