Capturing, Storing, and Retrieving Digital Media to Deliver Strategic Value

The Aberdeen Group has just released a report titled Marketing Digital Asset Management: Capturing, Storing, and Retrieving Digital Media to Deliver Strategic Value. The report discusses the use of Marketing DAM systems among 185 Best-in-Class companies.

Description : A December 2007 survey of 185 companies revealed how Best-in-Class companies maximize the strategic value of digital assets through technology and organization capabilities. For the purpose of this research, Digital Asset Management (DAM) is viewed as a subset of Enterprise Content Management (ECM). The research focuses on technologies that allow marketing departments to capture, store, retrieve, and manage digital content. This benchmark enables companies to see how Best-in-Class tactics help marketing departments maximize investments and leverage technology to improve brand effectiveness, brand consistency, and return on marketing investments, ultimately delivering strategic value from marketing asset management technologies.

B.media 5.5 Release

B.media version 5.5 was released the night of Friday December 7th. Along with support for Quark 7 and InDesign CS3, B.media 5.5 also include many new robust features.

Publishing Targets : Utilize powerful image transformations to generate web-ready images from hi-res print files while exporting relevant metadata as XML. These publishing targets enable digital rights management, single source of data entry, robust reporting features, and integrations with web and other external systems.

TableBuilder : The cumbersome formatting and updating tasks associated with maintaining tables are virtually eliminated with WAVE's TableBuilder. Users define columns and rules in a simple interface and then allow the software to create and populate the table accordingly. Tables are format-neutral allowing them to be distributed to both electronic and print publications.

SynchroBlock : Have a lot of data that you need to get onto pages quickly? Want to see an accurate preview of an offer without waiting for the design process? SynchroBlock puts design capabilities at the user's fingertips by re-using content and assigning templates to automatically apply layout and dynamically build pages and complete publications.
