Understanding the Benefits of a CMS
Enterprise Content Management Concepts
While Digital Asset Management is concerned with the distribution and usage of files, Content Management tracks and manages the granular content that is contained in, or describes those files.
B.media serves as the hub of marketing and business content that can be formatted and published to any desired output channel. Tightly integrated with popular page layout programs (such as Quark and InDesign), B.media allows users to work in a familiar environment while automatically maintaining the integrity of the data that flows through the production process. Unlike many content management systems, B.media equally weights the importance of web and print workflows.
B.media Dataflow
In the B.media Dataflow, data is entered into B.media from external business systems, external applications, or by entry within the B.media client. The data is structured within the content and product repositories, then organized into unformatted blocks. These blocks are related product and content information that will be displayed as a single product offer. They may be formatted in a page layout application using templates, then saved for reuse in subsequent publications. Blocks may be published to either a print or web workflow.
