Course Summary:

MediaBank Demonstration:

A general discussion of server and client requirements, OS support, enterprise database requirements, MediaBank topology, integration with output systems including OPI, server installation and upgrades, MediaBank services, Win/Mac client installation, client/server communication. This portion includes practical application of best practices and procedures.

MediaBank System Preferences/Databases/Catalogers/Job Jackets:

This component covers the particular settings for deploying MediaBank for a wide range of practical applications. Students will learn the various ways to stage MediaBank to ingest and track asset movement; hands-on of best practices and procedures.

Categories/Users/Groups/Profiles/Stages/Fields/Types and Creators:

This session covers the many ways to categorize and group assets and the means by which to enable various workflow methods through the usage of profiles, groups, etc.

User Preferences/ Permissions/Searching/Queries/Properties:

This session covers several aspects of the system and how users interact with the it.

Check-in/Check-out/Revisions/Drag & Drop/Reports/Moving Files & Records/Synchronizing Records:

This session continues the review of client functionality and features.

Archiving Practices & Procedures/Backups/Restoring/Purging/Legato:

This session covers the various means to move data/files into and out of MediaBank.

MediaBank Options/Hooks, Utilities/Packing and Re-indexing Databases:

This session covers various tools provided to the administrative user, database administration, and applying client/server upgrades and patches.

MBWeb/Qproof:

A comprehensive overview covering web platforms, deployment & security, configuration, settings, tools, functionality, templates, permissions, file convert, and customization.

Prerequisites:

The student should be familiar with Java, client/server applications, Mac and/or Win OS, database theory, page layout applications, web servers, application servers, backup utilities, and storage devices.

Class Length:

Three Days, 8:30am to 5:30pm, with one hour for lunch.

Special Note:

MB201 will be limited to 8 students per session.
